Indian Society of
Hemodialysis to Feature Talk on Citrate Dialysate
March 8,
2004
Bellevue, WA, USA – 08 March
– The inaugural congress of the Indian Society of
Hemodialysis will include a talk by Dr. Suhail Ahmad on
the topic of “Heparin Free Hemodialysis – The
Role of Citrate Dialysate”. Dr. Ahmad is co-inventor
of Citrasate® and DRYalysate®. The March 19-21,
2004 congress will take place at the Hotel Ashok in New
Delhi, India, and is a collaborative event of the Indian
Society of Hemodialysis and the International Society of
Hemodialysis.
Citrasate® and DRYalysate®
are patented acid concentrates using citric acid, a known
anticoagulant. Citric acid-based dialysate concentrates
are particularly helpful in better dialysis for those patients
where heparin is contraindicated, such as heparin antibodies
or allergies. The acid concentrate products are also helpful
in acute dialysis where there is a risk of bleeding or clotting.
Citrasate and DRYalysate have been shown to prevent dialyzer
clotting, reduce metabolic acidosis and increase reuse of
dialyzers. More information may be found at www.citrasate.com.
